Troubleshooting RHI Installers

Hi,

I was trying to install the clipper plug-in, latest version (Windows Installation (0.3.0, Rhi)) from:

https://www.food4rhino.com/app/clipper-grasshopper-and-rhino

Droppped the .rhi file into rhino and this error (screenshot) popped up.

By my own means I associated the RHI file to Rhino, dropped it into the Rhino Canvas, and Rhino entered an endless loop of opening new Rhino windows that forced me to shut down my pc.

Paper folds

Namaste All,
Trying to model a paper fold which I recently learned, in grasshopper, and made this(gh def. attached). In reality though all sides of the paper hold a constant dimension while being folded, here in my def. its not so and I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to achieve it. Kindly guide.TY

Rhino6 won't work after update to Mac OS Catalina

Just want to report that the issue is still happening to my Mac.
iMac Late 2015 model
Catalina 10.15.3
Rhino 6.23, Rhino 7 WIP both crashes after the splash screen, and sometimes crashes immediately (application not responding)

Please add this option so that anyone can design and add the profile and section in Rhino for shut lining section.(by custom curve cammand)
By separating the layers color of each section

Thank you for your reply and script.

The option is set in my advanced settings and I tested both true/false but the clipboard data remains the same as before - Rhino3dmV6

From the setting name this only affects the copy to clipboard function within Rhino?
I tried a paste from a Rhino 5 to Rhino 6 which also fails to work. Mac does not allow concurrent running of V5 and V6, so I opened V5, copied a simple shape into the clipboard, closed V5 and opened V6 and pasted, but the result is the same.

Should I report a bug for this?

Rhino can’t handle *.rhi files.You can manually associate *.rhi files to Rhino Installer Engine, in the following location:

C:\Program Files\McNeel\Rhino Installer Engine\x64\rhiexec.exe

This method works for *.rhp files not *.rhi files.

It seems like a bug because it doesn’t behave as explained here.
P.S. You categorize your topic under Rhino for windows section. selecting the correct category for your topics helps others to find the solution faster.

I’ve noticed that this url, and many others refering to samples in your personal github, are not acessible anymore. I know that this is an old topic, although that would still be an helpful file for me.
Could you please upload it again ?
NB : I didn’t find it in the RhinoCommon sample files.

Sketch display mode needed

Sketch display mode
Hi!

Do any of you know if it is possible to configure the display mode to make it look like a semi-transparent sketch?
I have tried various settings, from Shaded to Arctic and Patent Drawing, but none of these forms of display comes close to the example below. This form looks aesthetically pleasing and seems to be a combination of the Shaded and Arctic functions. Unfortunately, the Transparency function of Arctic settings does not work.

Rounded square to point? Is it possible?

Hi. I have been trying a few hours in blender (polygonal modeling) making a rounded square to connect with a vertex at the center (the center is placed lower than the square). Unfortunately I did not manage to get the shape without some weird reflections. I decided to jump back to Rhino to see if the problem was my lack of knowledge in Blender or my lack of knowledge in geometry.

I can see now with rhino that the shape I want to make will always give me some kind of tension towards the corners of the square:

I did a try also in Blender by intersecting an inverted cone to a cube and I could see the intersection is never straight…then I realize I am trying to force geometry to do something not possible.

Being said that, I was wondering if there is any trick I could get around this. I am trying to design a fruit holder where the center of the square is a point lower than the edge of the fruit holder…kind of an inverted cone surface, but with the difference It will connect to a roundish square profile instead a circle.

Maybe I am able to fake this with a displacement map…but geometry wise is this possible?

The first step is to update your embedding code to the latest version of the viewer: you are currently using version 2.13.0, please update to the latest 2.19.2. The lighting API has changed a lot since the version you are using so I’m thinking it might solve most (if not all) problems. Let’s look again after this update.
